So I’ve been seeing these around for a while, but have only now decidedly fallen deeply in love. I spotted them across a crowded room (okay a kid party next to the bounce house) at my friend D’s, and promptly ran over to accost the very kind woman who was wearing them. She told me she had gotten them at Madison, and my heart sank – they would be a skillion dollars. Although $525 isn’t exactly a skillion, it can feel like it in this economic climate, which is why I immediately set out to find a decent facsimile. I managed to dig up these ‘Buck’ Calf Length Buckle Boots for a hundred and twenty bucks. Facsimile? Yes. Decent? Maybe, but I am so blinded by my love for the F & B pair, that I’m not even entertaining them. Probably not. Okay, perhaps…

I know the price of Fiorentini + Baker boots seems steep, but speaking as someone who bit the bullet and spent the money I can honestly say they are worth every penny. You just don’t find boots made like this anymore! The leather–both outside and inside–is fantastic, and the workmanship is unbelievable. I’ll have them forever because there’s no way they’ll wear out! Just fyi, I got mine at Ped shoes (http://www.pedshoes.com), which carries really beautifully made things.
I must admit, those are nice, but these are great! You can wear them as a bootie or a full boot. Check them out:

My friend is dying for this pair! Nice – but the ‘flap’ and higher heel bug me for some reason. Thanks for sharing them though!
I need them – I do. *SIGH* Great site by the way, and thanks for the info!
