Stiruppz Giveaway! (They’re not just for OBGYNs.)

'Stiruppz' $25 Per Set of Two

'Stiruppz' $25 Per Set of Two

Tres Leches cake…..traffic…..people who are late…..bunchy jeans…..THINGSICANTSTAND!!!! Ding, ding, ding! Correct. I’ve always said that it’s the little things that make me the happiest, and hallelujah, Stiruppz are no exception. There’s nothing worse than wearing an outfit that you adore, only to have to continually bend over and re-tuck your jeans into your boots all night. Not to mention? It just looks plain sloppy when they’re all bunched up around your knees. Enter Stiruppz. Being that it is the season of the boot, the brainchild of Arlington, Virginia bartenders Jenn Crittenden and Lisa Church hasn’t arrived a moment too soon.

Since it was finally boot weather in L.A. this past weekend, I got to try them out for myself. It took me a few times to adjust my jeans to the proper length (but maybe because I’m a total spaz, since it’s not that deep), but once they were in place it was dreamy, and my jeans DID. NOT. MOVE. My Stiruppz created a smooth line, and more importantly were comfortable. (This being a huge deal for me, especially when I’m PMS-ing and want to rip any remotely uncomfortable item immediately off my person.)

You’ll have to tell me what you think, because now is your chance to win your very own pair of Stiruppz and see for yourself! All you have to do to enter, is leave a comment on this post describing the crappiest method with which you’ve tried to secure your jeans within your boots…rubber bands? Tucked into your socks, perhaps? BTDT. Let me know…

*All comments must be received by the end of the giveaway, on Tuesday October 20th, at 11:59 EST. The winner will be chosen at random, notified via e mail, and announced on L.A. Stylist Mom, Thursday October 22nd. Open to U.S. residents only.

I’ve tried the sock thing before and had to resort to wearing capris instead of regular jeans :)

  2. Jaime says:

I’m not going to lie… I made terrible fun of these when I found out about them.

I actually used my kid’s glove clips that look remarkably like this…but they had a thing under my foot that hurt! I have also used socks, pegging and have not figured it out yet!

    I can’t wait to try these…

  4. Aimee says:

I have, on too many occasions to count, taped the bottom of my jeans around my socks with duct tape. Now, while it worked, it was, and continues to be the worst idea ever; one time I ruined a pair of jeans because I couldn’t get the sticky residue off (and neither could the dry cleaner!).

  5. Susan says:

Well I am sure you remember the “peg” scenario of high school in the 80′s? This was my fix to keep jeans taut in boots. The big let down? Two, inner-ankle, unexplained tumors and the resulting bruises the next day. need these . . .

Picture it: Lost 10 lbs, treated myself to stunning pair of Joe’s that would look great in boots. Hmmm, the hems a little too bunch around the ankle for the boots? Well, why don’t I just have them tailored to an almost capri length so that I could wear long socks and no bunching! ::Claps herself on back for being brilliant!:: Fast forward to day before party with still no tailored jeans. Hmmm, why don’t I just cut them a little longer than the tailor will do it, and I can wear them tonight?? Fast forward 10 minutes: too short. FAIL! …and then I ate a donut.
I could really use these next time.

  7. Allie says:

I resorted to using hair elastics on my ankles. I thought they would be less painful than rubber bands. Unfortunately I didn’t notice when they were no longer wrapped around my jeans, but had slipped down around my bare ankles. I came home and got into bed and woke up in the middle of the night wondering why my foot was completely numb. I looked down under the covers and sure enough, the hair elastics were still there, around both ankles. I wish they had stayed on my jeans as well as they stayed around my ankles. (PS. Why only one of my feet fell asleep, I have no idea!)

  8. AliB says:

I’ve done a combo of noth – elastic bands AND socks. Unfortunately they are often my husband’s awful heavy socks b/c those are the only ones that fit over my jeans!

  9. LailaMommy says:

Man what a cool idea! Of course I’ve tucked my kneehighs over my jeans! But what about Rubberbands? I know what your’re thinking Painful right? But no at least if you don’t have cankles! ahahahahahha Rubber bands were a cheap, inexpensive way for the lines in jeans to lay flat!

  10. I haven’t really gotten that creative with “tucking methods”, but there have been many times when I just skipped the tucked look I had in mind because I could not get it to look or feel good enough. I often need to take my shoes off throughout the day for fittings etc, and it is embarrassing as well as annoying if you can’t get your boots on and off quickly without fiddling around with rubber bands etc.

    Great giveaway!

  11. ASL says:

So, no creative ideas here, LASM. I’m going for straight flattery, tinged with a little guilt.

Before your blog, I didn’t think I could pull off tall boots tucked into jeans. You convinced me otherwise, and now I’m dealing with knee bunchies. Also, you gave me the nudge I needed to buy Frye Veronica slouch boots (which I LOVE, by the way), and, again, here I am with severe jeans-related knee discomfort.

    You totally owe me.

  12. Ohhh lord…..I did my grade school trick the other day when wearring my Gap skinny jeans w/my Black Frye Harness boots…..fold and stuff into a very ugly sock. Then hide them with my cute boots. I need these because this method is wrong on SO many levels….

  13. Sarah-Jean says:

I’ve haven’t tried anything fancy like rubber bands, but I have tried tucking them into socks which is not comfortable at all! I usually end up getting so frustrated, I give up and wear shoes. I would absolutely LOVE to try these!!!

  14. Heather says:

I need these SOOO bad. I have tried almost everthing to get my pants to stay down but the worst is probably sewing baseball stirups to the bottom. This did not work, almost made it worst because the stretched.

  15. Lindsay says:

These Stiruppz look AMAZING! I’ve tried so many fix-its, but what I found to be most “effective” was using a giant bobby pin and poking half of it through the sock and using the other half to hold the jean to the sock. It doesn’t sound too bad, but it was more complicated than it should have been.

  16. Sarah says:

ahhh! Genius! Totally one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” things. I do the thing where I fold them over lengthwise behind my calf and the tuck behind my ankle so it doesn’t look all big and bulky. But it never stays put!

  17. Joanne says:

I tried to do the same trick I did as a kid when i didn’t want my pants to get caught in the bicycle chain. Kinda hard to describe, but you pleat the edge of the pants hem over itself before you fold them up, it makes for a tighter fold. Didn’t work though, I still had bunchy knees.
