Boy am I hearting these picks for the fashionable (or not so) Dad or dude! Even if he isn’t super handy, I cannot get enough of both the cost and chic factor of the Klein Canvas Bag (which could easily double as an overnight or carry-on) – unless of course it was the ‘aeriel view’ of the beach printed on those board shorts. How crazy cute?!
I’m thinking about the Smith + Butler belt for J (unread that J), since I’ve long been on the hunt for a black belt that could be either dressy or casual and doesn’t look like every other flatrectanglebrushedsteel piece of crap out there. The jacket is a classic no-brainer, and the boots? Let’s just say I first noticed them on my much younger, kinda (unbelievably) cute neighbor and shook him down for the detes. Hayden-Harnett has got it going on in the originality department. My very favorite swimsuit that I’ve ever owned came from them, complete in all its hand-drawn-patterned glory – hi Clio! This summer’s batch of modern dresses is no exception. Cheap? No so much, but then again who can put a price on not looking like everyone else. Not only are the patterns, cuts and workmanship stunning, these dresses are also comfy and forgiving, even on my pear-shaped bod. The ‘Lee’ is my personal fave, and the chic ‘Bibliotheque’ can also double as a tunic. Be sure not to miss their unique bombshell swimsuits in some of the same delicious prints…

It’s that time again and it’s enough to make me want to hurl. At least I’m not alone; I received this letter in my ‘Ask’ section the other day and am positive that AAC isn’t the only one feeling unprepared to dive head-on into swimsuit season. I’ve taken the liberty of listing some body-flattering swimwear categorized by – shall we say – problem area. Hope all is well! Loving the wedges posted this week – finally motivated me to order a pair and jump on the bandwagon. Heading off to Hawaii in a couple of weeks for Spring Break and facing the need for a bathing suit. I really fear baring my winter white body that hasn’t seen the inside of a gym in a while! Inspired by Nine West’s Spring Collection, I am now obsessed with the copper. Spring Blues may the most popular upcoming trend, but wouldn’t copper make an excellent accent color? Think about this: an Alice and Wonderland dusty blue dress paired with a layered copper chain necklace; a blue denim shirt worn with giant copper earrings; or a bright turquoise romper worn with metallic copper heels. These looks could steal the show! Are you interested now?

Jump on this, because a bag this gorge, at this price, won’t be around long, I promise. Originally marked at $542, this is not only a deal? It’s a downright steal, not to mention the versatility of grey which will carry you through several seasons. And again – love the vintage modernity that is Hayden-Harnett. Combine that with quality and it’s a no brain-er; I must say I’m a little bummed that I’m not in the market for a new handbag, but do you really need to be…? (P.S. I scored the $200 H.H. Clio Maillot in ‘Boudoir’ I was coveting a while back, for for fifty bucks! See?! It pays to shop off season – I’m just saying.)
