Not-so-real-life-friendly styling aside (which I actually think is kinda cool), this little sheath is comfy, forgiving and versatile. I should know since I fell in love on a quick ’stocking-stuffer’ trip to Target with Z, who I subsequently dragged into the dressing room to his happy squeals of, “Mommy, try it on!” (*blink*) Not only is he the most patient shopper on the planet, he gives great feedback for a five year old dude – no, really.
Long story long, this dress was one of my faves in the Rodarte for Target collection. I wore it to a party on Christmas Eve, with a vintage black Dolce & Gabbana cardigan, black opaque tights, and tan satin Te Casan booties with black leather piping. The best news is that it’s going to be just as cute this summer, sans tights, with flat sandals. And if you’re headed to check out the collection (I know I’m late to the game most of you have already been cut me some slack I have kids whatev) skip the tulle and head straight to the surprisingly decent fitting lace cardigans – if there are any left. For what it’s worth, Z approved of those as well.
(P.S. Although the word ‘Juniors’ is noted in the dress description, this particular dress is generously cut, and I was able to purchase the size I usually wear.)
