Gorge. Edgy. Affordable. Loving. If ‘Made Her Think’ was music, it would sound like Nine Inch Nails. These are just a sampling of my faves (obvy), but M.H.T. has tons of other beautiful baubles, on ends both high and low. Case in point? Be sure not to miss the adorable ‘Pyramid Candy Rings’ (a mere thirty bucks!) and the stunning ‘Pyramid Studded Knuckle Buster,’ that made me think, for sure – that I can’t live without it…

I love these for fall. I know it’s only July, but I’m sick to death of perusing maillots and flip flops. I found the fall collections to be both exciting and inspiring, chock full of black and metal and rock and roll – digging. I actually think I like the F 21 version better, if that’s possible; a little more edge, a bit less precious. $832.20 less precious to be exact!

So I’m sure I’m going to hear about it…guns, knives, matches, promoting violence, blah, blah, blah. None of the above. Plain and simple these are just singularly original, and particularly beautiful – period. Once again a most perfect union of both feminine and edgy, of which I still cannot get enough. I mean seriously, it’s pavé diamonds in an axe for God’s sake, and I’m loving it. The Lizzie Borden reference? Rather dark (whenever I see her story on the ‘Bio’ channel I skip over it really quickly, yet oddly continue to think about it *shudder*), but I’m digging the whole play on words about what love can do to your heart; kind of angst-y and romantic. Easy to say when you’re married I guess, but I still want one – maybe just not the axe…

Enough with the necklaces, I’m moving on. There’s nothing more chic with a simple outfit than removing all of your jewelry to make way for a gorgeous statement ring; ‘less is more’ actually does have a little leverage. I’m a fan of chunky rings worn on the index finger (in larger sizes of course, since I also happen to have the chunky fingers to match – thanks Dad!) in lieu of the middle, which seems kind of obvious. The whole ‘pointer finger’ ring scenario reminds me of the sophisticated hippie look from the ’70′s – very Sigourney Weaver in ‘The Ice Storm.’

Batacuda Eco-Plastic 'Petals' Necklace in Black $38
On the heels of Earth Day and the cusp of Mother’s Day, this is the perfect gift! This gorgeous necklace is not only wearable art (a term I loathe, but it really kind of is), it’s eco-friendly and reasonably priced. Based in Paris, Batacuda uses eco-friendly plastic neither rubber nor silicone, which is manufactured accordingly and packaged in recycled paper. There are several different versions (this one also comes in red) as well as bracelets, all equally feminine yet edgy – a combo I adore. At just thirty-eight bucks, these would make a unique and affordable gift for yourself or any other chic moms in your life. Not to mention, for those of you in L.A? It’s an excuse to head over to A+R on Abbott Kinney Blvd, one of my very favorite stretches in all of Los Angeles!

When it comes to trendy costume jewelry, it’s just not that deep. Why pay ninety-nine bucks when you can pay six? Granted, the Wet Seal version is pretty watered down, but had you never seen the designer option, you’d like it that much more. I found one identical to the original at both Anthropologie ($38), and Loehmann’s ($12), where I bought mine. There could still be some lying around…
