Top Ten Trends For Fall 2009

1. Power Shoulders: Evocative of both the ’40′s and ’80′s, this formidable silhouette commandeered the fall runways.

2. Biker Babe: Seen in everything from motorcycle jackets, to chains, to leather leggings, this hardcore sexy look is an essential fall component.

3. Black Is The New Black: Collections were once again deep, dark, and rich; think femme-fatale sophistication, not Siouxsie Sioux.

4. Fur: PC or not, it’s everywhere for fall; faux, real, dyed, sheared, and otherwise.

5. One Shoulder: A carry over from spring becomes more structural and modern for fall.

6. Metallic Fabrics: Season after season, it’s shown up in leather and accessories, but key pieces now sparkle and shine in Studio 54-esque lamé.

7. Ladylike Dressing: Designers are buttoning up and paring down for a throwback to a sleek, graceful, feminine, look.

8. Over-The-Knee Boots: A look that I adore, but alas can never wear – they’d come up to my neck.

9. Eyelets: Adorning everything from shoes to belts to bags, they’re a toned down version for those of you who can’t do…

10. Studs: Love. In keeping with the whole biker babe vibe, the punk rock classic has gone mainstream, so stock up!

The Versatile ‘Un-Dress’

Friday, August 8th, 2008

I am LOVING this dress! It has such a glamorous Film Noir vibe to it, yet still ties in the must-have fall trends of menswear, bows and ‘skirts.’ With its versatile style and reasonable price tag, you could wear it with a jacket to the office (chances are unless you’re a six foot glamazon it won’t be this short on you) or pair it up with some black lace tights and platform stilettos creating a gorgeous dinner date ensemble. I might just grab it for an evening wedding in late September! BCBGMAXAZRIA Mock Two Piece Chiffon and Tweed Dress
