I first fell in love with Laura James Jewelry and its chic simplicity when I saw her Oval Tag Vintage Necklace on the Max and Chloe website. You can imagine how thrilled I was when she graciously contacted me with thanks for accolades made in a mention on L.A. Stylist Mom, and little did she know that It. Was. On. There are few things I adore more than spectacular designer vintage and Rice and Beans Vintage is paramount in this category; I guess one could even call it the shizznit of vintage sites (one being me of course), but it really and truly is. Owner Sarah Korsiak Cellier has an eye that’s dead-on, and her stunning pieces are reflective of her incredible and discerning taste. In a climate where the word vintage is thrown around to describe everything from Courreges to Urban Outfitters circa 1998, Sarah is a true vintage aficionado. (She’s also cool, down to earth and funny as hell.)
With pieces both designer and otherwise, Rice and Beans is not only chock full of gorgeousness, but it’s more reasonably priced than other on line vintage shops. There’s also a section of modern designers as well, including both shoes and handbags, creating the potential to scoop up more recent pieces you might have missed the first time around. I love that Cellier has chosen to include a jewelry section, often my favorite vintage finds and a category commonly overlooked on other comparable sites. Best of all, everything is beautifully showcased with large, clear photos, on an easily navigable and comprehensive site.

If you know me at all, then it’s no big secret that working out is not my most fave thing on the planet. Pilates? Love, but probably because the only thing missing from the reformer is an ashtray, it’s so relaxing. A brisk walk up the canyon (which isn’t a hike ladies, so stop calling it that)? I’m in, but even then mostly due to the fact that I have a 100 lb. Dane mix, leaving me with little choice. You have a better chance of finding me at REI on a Saturday afternoon than you do on an elliptical, but now that I’m Iveestylin’? It’s almost enough to make me want to treat the treadmill like a runway.
I’ve never featured workout clothes before, and have done quite the decent job of dodging your questions regarding them. This was of course pre-Ivee, who were generous enough to send me this modern and comfy ‘Ella’ top, that I kind of don’t want to take off. (You hear that FTC? They sent it to me. TO REVIEW.) The cut is super flattering, and although it fits snugly in the boobs – complete with removable pads – what I love is that it isn’t skin tight. (FYI I’m a 4/6 on top, and mine is a medium – I could have gone with a small for a smoother silhouette.) My other fave is the ‘Chloe’ top, which like her friend ‘Ella,’ is far more chic than the yawn of a tank top or sports bra (which – Hi! – should not be worn alone and called a ‘top’).

Let’s face it; we’re living in a wasteful time. I’m not going to get preachy, but given the opportunity I’ll certainly do my part where I can, since I’m a firm believer that every little bit helps. Coopersong is no exception, with their line of bags and accessories crafted from all-natural, organic, and re-purposed materials. Founder DeAnna Cooper creatively utilizes recycled bicycle inner tubes (that once trekked miles through the Colorado mountains) as the handles on all of her bags. She also features other reclaimed items such as baseball leather, as well as buttons and buckles from the 1940′s.
I happen to love the Mid-Hipster Bag pictured, which would make the perfect ‘un-diaper’ diaper bag; better still when paired with the adorable, polka dotted, Mommy Packs, that include an insulated bottle bag and changing pad. Fall is in the air! Well, not here, but somehow my body is still attuned to that ‘now it’s September and school has started so bust out the cozy clothes’ schedule. Fortunately for us, so is Felix Rey. You might know F.R. from their fantastic collaboration with Target last spring (one of the best, in my opinion), but I’ve been a longtime fan of their edgy, girly, sensibility; I especially love that their stuff doesn’t look like everything else.
The Fall Collection is no exception, full of luxe ruffles and bows, and sumptuous textures like suede and snakeskin.
