Jillybean Green makes my heart beat fast. It’s like all the kid stuff I scour the web for, loaded into one happy little spot. And it’s fun to say (you know you just said it). Created by an L.A. mom who adores both her kids and the environment, Jillybean offers alternatives to adopting a greener lifestyle, without having to compromise the ‘hip’ factor. Every manufacturer they work with creates products that are either organic, made with sustainable or recyclable materials, employ fair trade practices, or are recyclable, reusable and or/non-toxic. They also support local artisans, designers and good old USA manufacturing – woo hoo!
What I love best about Jillybean Green (besides saying it, okay I’ll stop) is the stuff; babies, kids, gear, bath time…moms, JBG has it all! In addition to my picks above, one of my most fave parts of their site are the 100+ items in the Under $25 Finds section, perfect for gift giving and otherwise. (P.S. Although in ‘the real world’ it seems a bit early to start thinking about Spring, it’s already old news in the fashion realm. Exciting news however, since it includes loads of floral prints, pale pinks, ruffles and generally all things girly (*batting eyelashes coyly*) – a timely backdrop for these delicate and sparkly Laura Gibson earrings.
Crazy, coming from an artist who began her career as a sales and marketing specialist for IBM. Luckily for us Laura did a one-eighty, and bravely decided to pursue her dream of becoming a jewelry designer – props to that Laura! She’s been featured in Harper’s Bazaar UK and InStyle Weddings amongst others, and continues to create her timeless designs from her studio in Tucson. She focuses on a number of collections including Bridal and Breast Cancer Awareness (love), in both white and yellow gold, in addition to her newest pieces in sterling silver. Laura uses what seems like a skillion different stones, too numerous to name, making her collections diverse with something for everyone. I like her stuff because it reminds me of the ‘upscale’ Anthropologie…

Although I exist in a world rife with dudes (and therefore the requisite dude duds), it doesn’t keep me from occasionally longing to dream up a tiny outfit that includes a dress or two; enter these shimmering ‘Black Tie’ leggings from Angela Frost’s ‘Flutter By’ collection, and boy (girl?) do I ever heart them!
The fall fashion season is lousy with sequins, and apparently not just for grown-ups. These leggings are cool and edgy, yet at the same time mange to remain sweet, unlike some other ‘big girl-turned-little girl’ fashion I’ve seen. I’m also loving the ‘Zippity Doo Da’ version, which come in five delicious colors with names like ‘Tang’ (a juicy orange), and a yummy shade of green called ‘Sour Apple,’ complete with trompe l’oeil ‘lace.’ An added plus? Everything in Angela Frost’s collection is locally made – sewn, dyed, and printed in a single factory located in sunny Southern California.

Fall is in the air! Well, not here, but somehow my body is still attuned to that ‘now it’s September and school has started so bust out the cozy clothes’ schedule. Fortunately for us, so is Felix Rey.
