Insane. You can’t tell from this picture, but the satin ‘mohawk’ goes up either side of your of foot, making these even more astoundingly gorgeous when on. Combine that with that fact that they’re so practical and reasonably priced? I’ll probably end up getting a couple pairs…

Forgive me as I am ever so slooowly re-immersing myself back into my ‘real’ life (dog puke anyone?). Have I mentioned that I’m not amazing with transition…? With kindergarten, haircuts, and uniforms on the back burner (for now), historically one of the first things I do upon retuning to my hometown, is ditch the kids, jump into the car with my mom (the best shopper on the planet for about sixty different reasons) and head to the local Loehmann’s.
The sale was on, and the discounts were gorgeously deep. I tried to focus more on my day-to-day ensembles, rather than shopping for all those amazing nights out that usually only happen in my head. I think I did okay, save for the impractical Pucci beach tote that I just couldn’t pass up ($120 down about seven times from a ludicrous $715 – WTH?!), and The Steve Madden (WTH x 2, since I usually cannot stand SM) platforms that I still think are kind of slutty. Regardless, they make my fat feet look cute as do the gladiators, so there. Oh, and the chandelier earrings! (Mine are, incidentally, all clear stones.) On second thought, not such a stellar job on the day-to-day wear. At least I managed to eek out some jeans and tees, but boy will those slutty shoes look hot in a parallel universe…

'Cara' Bow Sandals in Pink $32
I want to eat these. They remind me of cake. Super girly I know, but there is that part of me that likes all things pink, frilly, and sparkly, like a magpie. I came across this totally weird website called Yes Style – very hit or miss, so don’t say I didn’t warn you – but worth a look nonetheless. Not only do they show you the item, if you scroll down there’s a whole ‘gallery’ of images of it shown as part of an outfit, on an actual human being, in about fifteen random poses. Again, weird, but surprisingly helpful when speculating about how something will look ‘on’. Not to mention the price is so right. Now, do I really need another pair of shiny flat sandals? No, but you might.

LOVE. There really isn’t much more to say. In a sea of gladiators and platforms, these modern sandals stand alone. I adore the idea of suede for summer (get over it) combined with colors so mouth-wateringly deep and vibrant. They just feel really clean and new to my eye, not to mention they’re comfortable, versatile (dresses and jeans), and affordable. Tara Subkoff & Byrdie Bell
A little over a week ago, ‘Becky’ wrote in asking who made the shoes Tara Subkoff is wearing in this photo. After much speculation that included everything from Vivienne Westwood to vintage, I dug a little deeper to discover that they are in fact (*drum roll*) Emma Cook for…Topshop?! Sure enough. Go figure, since the photo was taken at the opening of the New York store, incidentally the nail in the coffin of the revelation. Investigation aside, I have been thinking about these guh-orgeous shoes ever since, and at a hundred and ninety bucks? It could be better, but it could be way worse; Like I needed another thing to lust after – thanks Becky.
