Taking into consideration how much I loathe my legs, you’d think I’d lay off the dresses, but I just cannot get past how stupid easy they are – especially with two little kids. I remember so fondly those pre-kid evenings as a single girl, when I’d put on Mazzy Star really loud, pour myself a drink, and take as looong as I wanted to get ready for a night out (insert jarring record scratch here).
These days, I still have moments when I’m in my car on my way to wherever thinking, “I brushed my teeth…right…?” Enter dresses; they’re like Garanimals for grown-ups. I love the feeling of being able to throw one on and I’m done. This one from Calypso is particularly appealing to me not only because of it’s fabric and cut, but also for little details like the pin tucks and beaded ties. Actually…now that I think about it? It could have more to do with the fact that it’s forty-nine bucks (down from $135), and perfect for those late summer ‘fat-days’ when it’s a skillion degrees.
